Ski & Snowboard Guarantee
This document reproduces Article 8 of ALL MOUNTAIN RENTAL's full Terms & Conditions (CGV) in full, covering the accidental damage and theft guarantee. It's provided as a quick reference at the time of booking. Article numbers (8.1, 8.2, etc.) match the full CGV. Where there is any conflict of interpretation, the full CGV governs.
8.1 Normal wear and tear
Normal wear and tear on the equipment is never charged to the client, whether or not they purchased the guarantee described in Article 8.2. Normal wear and tear means any mark of ordinary use of the equipment, in particular light surface scratches on the base of the skis or snowboard that can be corrected by a standard grind/tune or a minor repair, as well as light surface scratches on the top sheet consistent with normal, careful use of the equipment.
8.2 Accidental damage and theft guarantee (optional)
An accidental damage and theft guarantee may be purchased at the time of booking, for a supplement shown at booking. This guarantee applies to skis and snowboards. It does not cover poles, boots, or helmets, which remain chargeable at their replacement cost as set out in Article 8.6 in the event of loss, theft, or damage, whether or not the guarantee was purchased.
Where purchased, the guarantee covers major accidental damage found when the equipment is returned, including:
deep gouges or material loss on the base;
edge damage resulting from an impact (for example, striking a rock).
In these cases, and provided the guarantee was purchased, no additional charge is made to the client, except where the excess set out in Article 8.4 applies in the case of theft.
8.3 Exclusion — negligence and misuse
Excluded from the guarantee described in Article 8.2, whether or not it was purchased, is all damage resulting from negligence or misuse of the equipment, assessed by reference to the condition of the equipment on return, independently of any explanation given by the client. Negligence or misuse includes, in particular:
an accumulation of superficial scratches not removable by a standard grind/tune, where this clearly results from using the equipment in an area where the skis or snowboard should have been removed — such as a car park, pavement, or a clearly visible rocky area on or near the piste. The guarantee in Article 8.2 covers accidental damage; it does not cover excessive damage resulting from attempting to slide over clearly stony or rocky terrain;
delamination or lifting of the top sheet of a ski or snowboard resulting from contact between skis, or between the equipment and other kit, in particular while riding a chairlift, this type of damage being considered avoidable through proper handling of the equipment;
any damage resulting from use plainly contrary to normal skiing or snowboarding practice.
This damage is charged to the client according to the replacement or repair schedule in force, as set out in Article 8.6, whether or not the guarantee was purchased.
8.4 Theft
In the event of theft of the equipment, the client must: (i) file a report with the competent police or gendarmerie authorities, and provide a copy of it to ALL MOUNTAIN RENTAL; and (ii) notify ALL MOUNTAIN RENTAL by WhatsApp or e-mail immediately upon discovery, and in any event the same day.
Failing to meet both of these conditions, the theft is treated as a non-return of the equipment under the conditions of Article 8.5, and the client remains liable for the full replacement cost as set out in Article 8.6, whether or not the guarantee was purchased.
In all cases, theft occurring at the client's accommodation or from a vehicle — in particular where the equipment was left in the vehicle overnight — is excluded from the guarantee described in Article 8.2, including where a police report has been filed. Such theft is treated as a non-return under Article 8.5, and charged to the client at its replacement cost as set out in Article 8.6.
Where both conditions are met and the guarantee described in Article 8.2 was purchased:
if the theft occurs in a bar or restaurant reachable on foot, in particular at resort level (for example, in Avoriaz), at village or town level (for example, in Morzine, Montriond, Les Gets, or any other resort), or in the immediate vicinity of, and reachable on foot from, a lift base station (for example, at Ardent, Les Prodains, or Nyon), an excess equal to 50% of the replacement cost of the stolen equipment, as set out in Article 8.6, remains payable by the client;
in all other cases, the guarantee applies with no excess.
8.5 Non-return and loss
Any equipment not returned at the end of the rental period, for whatever reason (forgotten, abandoned, lost), and which does not meet the theft conditions of Article 8.4, is charged to the client at its replacement cost as set out in Article 8.6, in addition to rental fees already incurred. This damage is never covered by the guarantee described in Article 8.2.
Where equipment is returned by collection from the client's accommodation, the client agrees to make the equipment available in a secured space (for example, inside the accommodation or in a locked area), and not to leave it unattended outside the accommodation where it could be taken by a third party, unless expressly agreed in advance with ALL MOUNTAIN RENTAL's admin team. Absent such prior agreement, any equipment that goes missing, is damaged, or cannot be found at collection is treated as a non-return under this article and charged to the client under the conditions above, including where a police report for theft has been filed — the guarantee described in Article 8.2 does not apply in this case.
The client also agrees that someone will be present at the accommodation at the time of collection, so that the condition of the equipment or any missing items can be discussed on the spot if needed, and payment settled under Article 8.7 if necessary. In practice this step is quick and rarely raises any difficulty. If no one is present at collection, the equipment's condition as recorded by ALL MOUNTAIN RENTAL is deemed accepted by the client.

8.7 Payment terms for amounts due under this guarantee
Amounts owed by the client under this guarantee (uncovered damage, theft excess, non-return) are, wherever possible, settled on the spot by card, using a mobile card terminal, during an in-person contact with the client (in particular at delivery, fitting, or collection of the equipment). Where such immediate payment is not possible, the amount due is communicated to the client by e-mail, together with a secure card-payment link, to be settled without delay. Failing payment, the amount due bears interest at the statutory legal rate, without prejudice to any action ALL MOUNTAIN RENTAL may be entitled to take to recover it.
